Project Title: Replace 4KV Electrical System (South Portion of UNR Campus)
Agency: UNR
Division: UNR
Department: NSHE
Project Manager: CAD
Description: Phased replacement of the obsolete 4KV electrical distribution system at the south portion of the UNR campus.
Location: Reno
DI_Location_2: 0
Project Description: This project is the first phase of replacing the existing antiquated 4 KV electrical distribution system. This system is largely located on the south end of the campus, serving mainly the older facilities. This phase would upgrade the oldest, most unreliable, part of the system. The voltage for the new system would be 25 KV, matching the newer systems on campus. All system components would provide protection for maintenance personnel from high voltages. There is also a 4 KV distribution system on the north end of the campus, but it was constructed much later, and is not part of this project. It would be addressed at a later time.
