16. Project Description: Expand the fire alarm system to all areas of building 1300 and connect it to the main fire alarm panel located in building 1391.
17. Project Justification: Building 1300 is a multi-use facility, it houses up to six individuals living at the Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF) in the west wing and various staff in the east, south, and north wings. The fire alarm system currently does not service all areas of the building and needs to be expanded. If a fire were to occur in an unmonitored section of the building significant damage could occur before help could be summoned. It also places individuals living at the ICF at greater risk because of the potential delayed notification.
