II. Narrative Section 
1. Project Description: Remove existing asphalt composition shingle roof. Rehabilitate roof sheathing as required. Install new 50 year asphalt composition shingle roof assembly with ancillary flashings for a weather tight installation.
2. Project Justification: The existing roof is currently leaking and being patched by the park maintenance staff. The roof is beyond its serviceable life and replacement is needed.
3. Project Background Information: The 2009 Facility Condition Analysis for the park cites that the roof was in poor condition in 2009. The condition of the roof assembly has continued to deteriorate to the point of eminent failure.

When it is occupied, it is commonly occupied by the Ranger and their family. if the roof is allowed to continue to leak, mold could grow representing a health hazard to the employee and family. if the leaks continue, they could cause failure of the structure representing a life safety hazard.
