Project Justification (Essay)
Project Description: Remove and replace 724 square feet of sidewalks at the Las Vegas Nursery.
Project Justification: The sidewalks to be removed and replaced are used daily by the public and employees and currently pose a tripping hazard and not compliant to ADA standards.
Project Background Information: This project was identified on January 30, 2002 during a Facility Condition Analysis review and was previously submitted as an ADA project last biennium.

(Short Essay): If the sidewalks at the nursery aren’t removed and replaced, tripping hazards will continue for customers and employees and ADA noncompliance.

Please describe any health, life safety, and/or legal issues that will be resolved by completing this project (Short Essay): The sidewalks at the Las Vegas Nursery are deteriorated to the point they have created a potential tripping hazard and are in noncompliance with ADA standards. In order to meet the requirements of the ADA and ADAAG, an accessible path of travel should be provided for the public, employees and inmate crews. If this project is approved it will reduce the potential for trips and falls and meet ADA compliance.
