Project Justification (Essay)
Project Description: The purpose of this project is to replace tile and carpet in an agency-owned mental health clinic and its administrative offices.
Project Justification: The carpet and tiles in the building have not been replaced from 5 to 8 years, and they have been worn out due to age and regular use. Some offices appear visibly soiled. Replacing both the carpet and tile flooring will ensure a safe and clean environment for staff, clients, and visitors. This will also help promote good air quality throughout the buildings.
Project Background Information: This has been an ongoing request in the past.

Ramifications if the Project is not Approved
(Short Essay): If the project is not approved, the damaged carpet and tile will create a life safety risk (a tripping hazard) for staff, patients, and visitors, which will cause citations be issued by outside regulatory agencies, which include, but not limited to, the Joint Commission, Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and OSHA. While carpet can be cleaned, not replacing them on a regular basis will incubate hard-to-clean pathogens and mold.
